Having originally been scheduled for 2020, you can forgive Tom Happ the extra time to innovate and polish on one of the finest Metroid games ever produced. Axiom Verge got a sneak release yesterday digitally, with the inevitable Limited Run LE editions to follow in October (note the double-pack if you couldn't get a boxed copy of the original).
Axiom Verge 2 trades in the firepower and weapons of the first game for more melee action in this one, and instead of hacking the scenery, a two-worlds-in-play mechanic sees the heroine switching between worlds to solve puzzles and create access to the other.
