Chasing Static hisses at the Switch

Headware Games' Chasing Static has been murmured quietly about for almost a year now, and here's the first proper look at some gameplay for the low-poly PS1-style spooky adventure coming to the Switch and other platforms soon. A demo is up on Steam for PC players, but Switch owners will likely have to wait a while.

The game is set in the backwoods of rural Wales where the locals are going missing and horrific scenes and sounds abound. That's key to the game as sonic exploration, hunting for audio clues with an experimental Frequency Displacement Monitoring Device offers something different to the usual monster hunt.

Inspired by 80s sci-fi horror and contemporary surrealist cinema, it features a mix of lo-fi and hi-fi, with low poly visuals but full voice acting, high quality sound design and a modern approach to gameplay.
